When in Stillman Valley, you should check out Fritz's Wooden Nickel. It's primarily a bar, but they have a full menu. The food is great. The salad bar is exceptional. The prices are fantastic. They have a GYOM (Grill Your Own Meat) night too. You tell Fritz what you want, and he'll hook you up with the meat of your choice to cook on their big barrel grill in the back.

The beer selection isn't very wide-ranging which is a slight minus in my book, but the people who work there are very cool and Fritz himself is both funny and accommodating.

My wife and I went here for the first time this past Friday night. It's a real "down-home" local bar/restaurant. We got there early, 4:45 pm. The dining room doesn't open until 5:00. We each had a beer and got the scoop from the bar waitress. They have Friday night fish, either fried or baked cod plus an open menu. They have nightly specials, one night all you can eat fried chicken, one night cook it yourself steak. wOW! So we went to the dining room and both had fried cod. The waitress, Eileen, was superb. Friendly and helpful regarding the menu. We proceeded to the soup and salad bar, nothing exceptional but very adequate. The fish came-it was perfectly cooked, very white, not greasy, and very large portions. We'd have given the place 5 stars except my wife didn't like the mashed sweet potatoes. Next time she will order fries. Great prices, great service, in a little local bar! We'all be back!

Bartender was incredibly friendly, Bloody Mary was very good, the burger was awesome.  French fries were very good, the cottage fries were good, but not as good as the regular fries.

This little bar has a home town feel with the home cooking to boot. On a Wednesday evening is the best time to give ol' Fritz's a try as they have a little buffet going on with AYCE fried chicken. The bean and beef soups are my favorites.
